Our Trip to Canada

After a well-deserved rest, I had to wake up early and bring Don to the downtown Edmonton area for an interview with his job placement company; Julie opted to go with. We arrived at his destination on-time as it was just starting to rain, and we forgot to remind him to take his umbrella…
We headed back towards the lodge, and on the way Julie spotted a humorous sign, talking about some kind of anus, oh, wait, that’s angus…
Shortly after we arrived back at the lodge, we got a call from Don saying he was ready to be picked up, so we headed towards the city again. When we got there, we realized that we had forgotten about the car’s fuel level so once we had Don we had to scramble to a gas station to refuel.
Following this scramble we headed back to the lodge again where we were left to fend for ourselves while Don and Ruth went to look at houses, so in our infinite boredom, we walked to Sobeys for survival food. We bought some Mac & Cheese for our lunch and some more Jones for my hyperactivity.
Upon returning to the lodge we once again became bored and found the Oh Henry bar that Ruth had bought for Mandy the day before and got creative. We created several commercials involving the candy bar and exclaiming the phrase “Oh Henry!” (See Julie’s Movie Week 2…)
After we had recorded many skits, I realized painfully that I was missing my lens cap, and that I had probably dropped it somewhere on our walk. We took another walk to find it and found it not but a few yards outside the parking lot of the Travelodge, and I let out a big sigh of relief. We continued on our walk happily, and went down a street behind the lodge, where I found plenty of opportunities for photographs.
On our return trip, we ran into a very cute cat that seemed intent on following us home; It just wouldn’t leave us and crossed two or three intersections with us, staggering behind and then sprinting in front of us. We sort-of wanted to take it home but somehow I don’t think it would have been easy bringing it everywhere with us (besides, it probably lived nearby).
After it finally left us we headed back to the lodge to report our findings and to go to bed; and we were once again reminded what a beautiful thing sleep is.
